How to charge a battery box with solar panels

Aug 13, 2025

1. Confirm component compatibility
Solar panels: When selecting panels with appropriate power (such as 100W, 200W, etc.), consideration should be given to lighting conditions and battery capacity.
Battery box: Usually lithium batteries (such as 12V/24V LiFePO4) or lead-acid batteries, with voltage (12V/24V/48V) and capacity (such as 100Ah) specified.
2. Connection steps
(1) Installing solar panels
(2) Wiring sequence
Connect the battery first, then the solar panel, and finally the load (optional)
(3) Power on inspection
Observe the controller screen or indicator lights to confirm the photovoltaic input voltage (such as 18V~22V for 12V system), battery level (such as 80%), and charging status (such as "charging").
3. Safety Tips
Use waterproof junction boxes and flame-retardant cables (such as AWG10 for 10A current).
When disconnecting, first remove the solar panel, then remove the battery (to prevent damage to the controller under no-load).
Regularly check whether the connection points are loose or corroded.
