Why do lithium batteries need nickel sheet connections

Mar 11, 2025

Nickel, as a metal with excellent conductivity, has better conductivity than some traditional conductive materials such as copper foil. This enables nickel sheets to effectively reduce resistance and improve the energy efficiency and performance of the entire battery pack when connecting various components of lithium batteries. The application of nickel sheets in battery pack connections also involves advanced welding technology, which has good welding performance and is easy to manufacture connectors of various shapes and specifications through stamping, cutting, welding and other processing techniques, achieving a firm connection with battery electrodes and other components. Nickel is relatively economical, suitable for large-scale production, and helps reduce battery manufacturing costs. Its good corrosion resistance and stability make nickel sheets less prone to rusting, which can extend the service life of batteries.
