Selection of cutting method
Mar 17, 2025
1. Mechanical cutting
Suitable for materials such as metal, plastic, and copper-clad laminates.
Low cost, fast speed;
Easy to produce burrs, requiring secondary processing (such as deburring)
2. Laser cutting
Suitable for metals, ceramics, and polymer materials.
High precision (± 0.1mm), non-contact cutting;
The heat affected zone is small, but the equipment cost is high.
3. Water jet cutting
Composite materials, glass, stone.
Cold cutting, no thermal deformation;
The cutting speed is slow and the cost of consumables (abrasives) is high.
4. Stamping/Die Cutting
Thin sheet metal, plastic, paper-based materials.
Suitable for large quantities of simple shapes;
High mold cost and low flexibility.
