Nickel plated solid aluminum busbar is a composite conductive material that combines the lightweight conductivity of aluminum and the anti-corrosion performance of nickel plating layer. It is made of high-purity aluminum as the substrate, and a layer of nickel is deposited on the surface through electroplating or chemical plating process, with a solid rectangular or circular cross-section. After nickel plating treatment, the surface of the aluminum busbar is smooth, without oxide film, and the contact surface is flat. Manufacturing process
1. Raw material preparation
●Aluminum material selection: Choose high-purity aluminum or high-strength aluminum alloy
●Surface pretreatment: Cleaning and degreasing of aluminum materials to remove surface dirt and oxide layers
2. Forming and processing
●Process aluminum into the desired busbar shape (such as rectangular, circular, or other customized shapes) through an extruder
3. Electroplated nickel plating (core process)
●process parameters
Temperature: 50-60 ℃ (too low temperature can easily cause pinholes, too high temperature can accelerate the decomposition of the plating solution)
Current density: 3-5 A/dm ² (too high can cause burning, too low can slow deposition)
Cathode movement: 15-20 times/minute (to avoid air flow marks)
Time: Adjust according to thickness (e.g. 20-30 minutes for 10 μ m)
4. Post processing and testing
●After electroplating, clean and dry the busbar to remove residual chemicals.
●Appearance inspection: Check whether the surface of the busbar is smooth, free of bubbles, cracks and other defects.
●Thickness measurement: Use a thickness gauge to check whether the thickness of the nickel plating layer meets the standard.
●Conductivity test: Use a resistance tester to test the conductivity of the busbar.
●Corrosion resistance test: The corrosion resistance of the nickel plating layer is tested by methods such as salt spray test.
