The Influence Of Etching Process Operating Conditions
Jun 25, 2025
Etching is a key process in the decoration of metal plate patterns. In order to obtain pattern products with clear stripes and strong decorative properties, it is necessary to pay attention to controlling the conditions of the etching process. Mainly the temperature and etching time of the etching solution. A slightly higher solution temperature can increase the rate of metal dissolution, that is, the speed of etching, and shorten the time required for etching. However, etching solutions are generally strong acid liquids, which have strong corrosiveness at high temperatures and can easily soften or dissolve protective coatings or corrosion-resistant inks, reducing the adhesion of the corrosion-resistant layer on non etched parts of the metal. This can cause the corrosion-resistant coating at the junction of etching and non etching to peel off or melt, blurring and deforming the etched pattern, affecting the beauty, authenticity, and decorative effect of the pattern. Therefore, the temperature should not exceed 45 ℃. Similarly, if the etching time is too long, especially in the case of high etching solution temperature, the immersion time of corrosion-resistant ink or protective coating is too long, which also has the above-mentioned side effects and adverse consequences. Therefore, the time control should be appropriate, and it should not be immersed for too long, generally not exceeding 20-25 minutes.
