New Energy Power Lithium Battery Module Connector

Jun 26, 2025

As the core component of new energy vehicles, the configuration of power batteries for conductive connections is of utmost importance. The connection method between the individual cells of the power battery and the module busbar not only affects the manufacturing efficiency of the power battery, but also determines whether the production of the power battery can be automated. Its impact on the performance of the power battery module assembly vehicle cannot be ignored.

Power battery module connector
The connection pieces of power battery modules are mostly made of multi-layer composite materials, with one layer of material being the connection layer between the connector and the pole to ensure welding performance. Multiple layers of materials are stacked to ensure the conductivity of the connecting piece.
The connection board substrate is processed and formed by stacking multiple layers of foil, which can form a flexible area to compensate for the displacement caused by the expansion of the power battery core and reduce the impact on the low strength interface.

Copper flexible connection
The connectors of power battery modules are generally rectangular, trapezoidal, triangular, or platform shaped, with a 0.1 thick nickel plated copper foil pasted on the connecting surface. During welding, the surface is prone to oxidation and discoloration at high temperatures, and polishing and cleaning should be carried out without damaging the surface coating of the product. This product not only solves the problem of overall electroplating, but also maximizes conductivity.
Copper nickel plated connectors are the best, followed by pure nickel connectors, but they are more expensive. Finally, nickel plated steel connectors are relatively cheaper and easier to weld. The thickness of the connecting piece selected by each power battery manufacturer is different, as the thickness of the connecting piece is related to the weight of the consumed materials and the overall weight of the power battery module. Reducing the thickness is the direction for the lightweight design of power battery modules.
