Overview Of Sheet Metal Cabinets
Jun 14, 2025
1. Definition of sheet metal
Sheet metal refers to the processing technology of thin metal parts that do not use specialized molds for cutting and forming.
Characteristics of sheet metal:
*No need for specialized molds
*The accuracy of the parts is not high (compared to stamped parts)
*Suitable for multi variety and small batch processing (NCN)
*Simple process and short processing cycle
2. Classification of container structures
Usually classified in the following ways
*Classified by usage environment: indoor and outdoor structures
*Divided by manufacturing process: welded and assembled structures
*Divided by structural method: frame structure and plate structure
3. Common materials
The commonly used materials for boxes and cabinets are:
*Stainless steel (304): mirror finish, matte finish, brushed finish
*Cold rolled steel plate (Q235A): electrolytic plate, aluminum zinc coated plate
*Ordinary board
*Aluminum plate: L5, LF2, LY12
*Common plate thicknesses: 0.5, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 2.0 (2.3), 2.5, 3.0 (3.2)
4. Structural design matters
According to customer requirements, consider the following aspects:
1) House type (usage environment, protection level, installation method, etc.)
2) Size (selected finished product/non-standard design)
3) Structure (cabinet/box type, frame/assembly, door, etc.)
4) Styling (straight/curved, ordinary/unique)
5) Installation (on the ground/wall/column)
6) Lifting setup (ceiling cover/lifting base)
7) Color requirements
