How to distinguish different types of battery boxes
Aug 01, 2025
he following are the main ways of differentiation:
1. Distinguish by placement method
- Vertical battery box: The batteries are arranged vertically, saving bottom space and suitable for devices with limited space.
- Horizontal battery box: The batteries are placed horizontally, occupying a large base area but with a lower center of gravity, suitable for large equipment.
- Hand operated: The battery box is separated from the device and connected by wires, commonly used in scenarios such as toys that require handheld operation.
2. Differentiate by application scenario
- Power battery box: Used for high-power equipment such as new energy vehicles, it needs to consider heat dissipation and safety design.
- Energy storage battery boxes: classified by capacity into small (1-10 kWh), medium (10-100 kWh), and large (several hundred kWh or more), used in household, commercial, and grid balancing scenarios.
3. Differentiate by battery type
- Cylindrical battery box: using cylindrical batteries of 18650, 21700 and other models, with high structural consistency but requiring explosion-proof design.
- Square battery box: aluminum or steel shell structure, customizable size, high energy density but lacking unified standards.
- Soft pack battery box: Adopting a soft pack packaging form, suitable for scenarios with high space utilization requirements.
